Royal Horticult. Society of Britain, a distinction, which you have so well earned
by your enthusiastic promotion of the gardening art in N.SW.

The
Sydney morning herald
, 19 July 1891, p. 8, reported that James, 'on the motion of Baron Mueller', had been
elected a member of the Royal Horticultural Society.
I have also again to thank you for sending a new part of your admirable horticultural
work

James (1892). The work was issued in 12 monthly parts from April 1891, followed by a publisher's
bound version in 1892. See notes to M to H. James, 21 April 1891.
Kindly remind me in September of my wish to send you the 8th edition (in the english
language) of the Select plants.
It is enlarged by nearly 100 pages.
