The fern, of which you sent a frond, dear Miss Henley, is
(Swartz), a rare plant in Victoria, new to your locality,
from which it will be recorded under your honored name in my works. I found it 1854
on the Snowy plains beyond the Buffalo-Ranges.
The fertile frond is contracted through out. If in your lagoons a good search was
made for floating or submerged plants, some rarities would be likely discovered. It
can best be done with a rake.

I am eager also for uncommon fungs, dried on a shelve near a fire.
