I would have answered earlier your last kind letter,
dear Mr Bradshaw, had I not been eager, to look over your very creditable collection
of dried plants first, so as to report to you thereon preliminarely. I can congratulate
you now to the discovery of several new species, which I will soon describe, and one
of the best shall be named in honor of yourself, an other be dedicated to Mr Allen.
Let me hope, that you will be able, to attend the postponed geographic meeting next
Friday. I shall probably be able to arrange for an adjourned meeting, to be held in
the week following, when antarctic subjects will be discussed. on that occasion we
would however have also time, to hear an account of your Expedition to Prince Regent's
River. As this paper need not be a long one in first instance, may I ask, whether
you could favor us with an extract from your diary by that time? The exact date of
the adjourned meeting will be announced at the close of the meeting on Friday evening.
Do you wish any of the botanic specimens back? I shall bring the rare and new sorts
to the meeting when your paper will be read.

1891, and a second paper on 'The future of North Australia' (Bradshaw (1892a)) at
the adjourned meeting on 19 September.
