Dated to 17 June 1891, as M to W. Fielder, 17 June 1891, is a related request for copies of Victorian Naturalist. On 19 June, M's letter was transferred to the Premier's Department (No. 1740, VPRS 1164 register of inwards correspondence, vol. 10, VA 672 Premier's Office, Public Record Office, Victoria), where the register entry is 'That Smyths Aborigines & Currs Australian Race be presented to Director of Christchurch Museum, NZ' [Smyth (1878), Curr (1886-7), both of which were published by the Government Printer]. Forbes had evidently requested M's help in obtaining published works.
