Letter not found. The text given here is from a letter to the Editor, 'Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo', Argus, 30 June 1891, p. 10. The letter is dated 27 June.
[Sir
I have just received a specimen from Baron F. Von Mueller K.C.M.G of the animal which by many is supposed not to exist, known as Lumholtz's tree kangaroo and called by the natives boongary. It was obtained 80ft from the ground and particulars of it will be interesting to yourself and readers of your valuable journal.]

Coles, a taxidermist, then provides a description of the specimen. The specimen is evidently the one 'sent to Mr Luehmann by a former mate of his at the diggings' (M to E. Ramsay, 14 July 1891).
