Telegram not found. The text given here is from Express and telegraph (Adelaide), 15 April 1891, p. 5. The telegram is dated to 14 April as the last date that it could have been sent to be reported in this edition of the paper. The quoted text is preceded by a report that at the meeting of the Branch held on 13 April 1891, a vote of thanks to M was moved in appreciation of his donation of seeds to the Elder Exploring Expedition. M's apologies were read at the meeting on 15 April, which was principally to farewell the Expedition (Evening journal (Adelaide), 16 April 1891, p. 6).
[The baron has sent a telegram expressing his regret that he will be unable to attend the meeting at the Town Hall to-day, to which he had been invited.]
