Found with specimen of Apalochlamys spectabilis (MEL 717976).
When travelling on Yorks Peninsula

Yorke Peninsula, SA.
6 years ago I found this plant growing in scrub lands near Point Turton. (at the bottom of the Peninsula) The peculiarity of its appearance was that it never came up, or was known, till the farmers rolled down the scrub mallee, & ti-tree and burnt it. Directly the scrub was burnt: up came this plant and reached a height of from 7 to 8 feet, in some instances — It presented a handsome appearance, — the branches growing out from each side in a very symetrical manner, — looking very much like a candelabra.
I found the enclosed specimen on limestone country on Kangaroo Island,

the "habitat" being exactly similar to that on southern Yorks Peninsula.
