My dear Baron
On behalf of this Branch, I desire to inform you that Sir Thomas Elder has placed
in the hands of this Branch the
detail
arrangements for his great exploring expedition.
He has met the recommendations of your good self & your Council by in every instance
appointing those endorsed by you. This Branch will of course desire to meet any expression
of wish in the connection emenating from yourself, or your Council. Sir Thomas Elder
will keep us informed in all these matter.

Elder Scientific Exploring Expedition, 1891-2.
Any further intimations kindly address to Sir Samuel Davenport, our worthy President,
and they will receive every attention. Sir Thomas desires to be relieved of the details
involved in getting the party ready & away. Instructions to the leader, in full will
be drawn up, and printed, setting forth everything expected of the party whilst in
the field. I must close to attend a meeting of my Council. Meanwhile
