I am not certain, dear Mr Ridley, whether I thanked you already for the highly valuable sending of dried plants, lately received, or whether I stopped short at the intention. My tour to N.Z. brought my correspondence in arrear, and I am overwhelmed with extrawork for the new geographic expedition to Central Australia, which is just at the eve of departure on expense of Sir Thomas Elder,

I find, after getting good specimens with pollinia, that my doubtful is a Pachystoma (Apaturia) Holtzei.
