It gives me much pleasure, dear Prof. Tate, to inform you, that five

species for certain have just to be added to the records of the S.A. Flora, namely:
,
.
.
They were found near or at the Lower Genelg-R. within S.A. boundary by Mr J. P. Eckert of Kirchheim, whom I induced during his newyear's school-vacation to traverse that region, he having been initiated into phytology by my correspondence and some of my works. He further found at the Glenelg R. but 20 miles from the Boundary and 25 miles distant.

Most of the Glenelg River is in Vic, but a bend near its mouth is in SA.
I like, to bring this at once under your notice, but beg of you, not publish these observations at once, as Mr Eckert intends to utilize the spring-vacation, to gather also the Orchids and other vernal plants and then at once write a full account of his results.

Eckert was an active member of the Field Naturalists' Club of Victoria and a regular contributor to the Victorian naturalist, but no account of his collecting in this area has been found in that journal. M mentions in B92.10.01, p. 94 receiving a specimen pf Pterostylis nutans that Eckert collected at the Glenelg River. This is presumably MEL 1561440, collected in 1891.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller.
He got also and some other rarities.
