Letter dated to March 1891 as Gill's collections from Kangaroo Island preserved at MEL were collected in that month. The last was collected on 30 March so it is possible that the letter was sent in April after his return. MS contains a sprig of the specimen discussed in the letter.

Is this a specimen of " ?" I found it growing in the Forest, by running permanent water, on De Mole River. K.I.

Kangaroo Island.
S.A Has the very favourable 'habitat' caused the erect luxuriant growth and finer developement to 3 or 4 feet in height? or is it another species? I have not numbered it — but if a distinct species will give it the next following number.
