Dear Sir,
We enclose you a branch of a bush sent to us by Mr W. F. Lambert of Queensland, who
writes us as follows about it
"I send under separate cover a branch of a bush that has appeared lately in Queensland
and grows thickly near tanks, & spreads very much, birds are very fond of the seed
& evidently cannot digest it, as the seed passes through them and produces a fresh
plant. No beast will eat the leaves, in fact nothing but birds will touch it. I would
like very much to have the opinion of your Govt botanist as to its permanency and
if bush fires will destroy. It produces a prolific crop of seed which is black when
ripe"
We will feel greatly obliged of your letting us have your opinion as desired
We remain
Yours truly
Edward Trenchard & Co.
