Letter not found. The text given here is from ' ', 'in Colonial notes', Gardeners' chronicle , 28 March 1891, p. 405 (B91.03.02). It is dated to February as the latest likely date that it could have been sent to have been included in this issue.
In the New Zealandian Alps, near Mount Cook, occurs a variety of , with serrated petals, which especially deserves introduction into horticulture, as this splendid plant has become in its ordinary form already a favourite with British gardeners in this variety. It was discovered by Mr. Huddlestone and some surveyors, and would likely become reproduced from seeds.
