Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Central Australian Exploration', in Record (Emerald Hill), 7 February 1891, p. 3. It is dated to December 1890 on the basis that the 'English mails to 31 December' were expected to be delivered in Melbourne by 6 February 1891 (Argus, 3 February 1891, p. 5).
[Baron von Mueller has just received a letter from Sir Thomas Elder, stating that he (Sir Thomas) will return to Australia, from Europe, at the end of this month, and then he will see to the dispatch of the expedition for the exploration of Central Australia.]
