Dear Baron
I am very much obliged for the plants of . I have not been hitherto fortunate in flowering ground orchids but may do better this time. In any case I have a great deal of material before I have to give T. aristata.
Last year I sent you specimens of and one from Howe Island.

Lord Howe Island. The specimens are MEL 2256081 and ML 2255520 respectively.
You wished to compare their capsules. I tried to get seed from the Howe Island form but it would not produce any with its own pollen. It has however seeded with pollen from T. Australis and I now send capsules from both forms.
The of which I sent flowers grows in a very out of the way place a long distance from Sydney but if possible I shall obtain a capsule and let you have it The flowers certainly do not seem to me to agree with any of the descriptions in the "Flora".

I hope soon to be able to send you another number of the Orchids
