AVH data (accessed 19 February 22022) show that except for nos. 170 and 181 the specimens were all collected in September and October 1890. No. 170 is dated only to the year 1890. No. 181 at MEL is said to have been collected in July and is identified as Stenanthera conostephioides , of which, however, the name given in this list is a synonym, so possibly a data entry error for September. There are other oddities in the data. Four specimens are dated 29 September, three from Minlaton but the other from about 175 km further north. The specimen with the latest date, number 182, is dated 24 October from Mt Brown, and this may seem questionable since the others with precise dates were collected from 23 September to 1 October. It is, however, feasible since Gill is reported as returning from Mt Brown to Adelaide on 25 October ( Evening journal (Adelaide), 28 October 1890, p. 2). The list is therefore dated to November as the earliest likely date M could have written it.
