Ihre N.1155, lieber Herr Holtze, ist Pavonia (Urena) Armitiana. Sie kann nicht von der QL. Pflanze, welche Armit 1876 entdeckte, getrennt werden.

abzulassen? Es ist wohl hoffnungslos Samen davon zu erlangen?
Ich habe ziemlich viel Zeit auf die Aristolochia 1169 verwandt. Es mag nur eine schmale Form von A. Indica sein, die sehr in Blattform variirt. Wenn Sie die reife Frucht auch besorgen könnten, dann wäre auch dieser Räthsel zu lösen. Was ist die frische Blumenfarbe? Wird die Pflanze nicht höher? Es mag eine Ausnahmsform sein entstanden nach Wiesenbrand.

Your No. 1155, dear Mr Holtze, is Pavonia (Urena) armitiana . It cannot be separated from the Queensland plant that Armit discovered in 1876.

Search for Urena armitiana in

(B76.10.01, p. 78), he gave as a synonym 'Pavonia Armitiana, F. M. coll.' In an undated fragment he referred to the same specimen number as Urena (Pavonia) Armitiana, but in his Census, B89.12.03, p. 25, he had retained Urena Armitiana, recognising only one Pavonia, namely P. hastata.

in B91.05.07, p. 176, read before the Royal Society of NSW on 5 November 1890, he attributed it to 'Mr Holtze junior' (i.e. Nicholas Holtze).
I suppose it is hopeless to obtain seed of it?
I have spent quite a lot of time on the Aristolochia No. 1169. It may only be a narrow form of A. indica, which varies a great deal in the form of its leaves. If you could obtain ripe fruit , this puzzle, too, would be solved. What is the flower colour when fresh? Does the plant grow no higher than this? It may be an aberrant form caused by a grass fire.
