My dear Baron,
The flowers of are white (dull white) & downy, but they change to a reddish brown colour when dry. I have noticed this also in several of the white Epacrids.
When I was lately walking in the bush near Brownlow Hill,

I came upon a fine specimen of Aphanopetalum resinosum , covering the butt of a Spotted Gum (E. maculata )

for about 20 feet, the upper part being a mass of white flowers. It was a very pretty object. By the way Bentham described it as sometimes a tree .

Bentham (1863-78), vol. 2, p. 441: 'Stated by some to be a tree of 30 to 40 ft., by others described as a tall straggling or climbing shrub'.
This is incorrect. It is a climbing or straggling shrub
