Letter not found. The text given here is from the report of the meeting of the Mildura Horticultural Society held on 27 October 1890, in Mildura cultivator, 29 October 1890, p. 2. The item continues 'A few roots of the Coapim grass were received last year, and were planted in the Cultivator garden. These have thriven well, and a good number are available this season for distribution to those desirous of giving it a careful trial.'
[A letter from Baron von Mueller was read, wherein that gentleman directs attention to the Coapim grass, and urges that the residents of this neighborhood be induced to try the plant on loose sandy ridges. He expresses his anxiety to learn whether by its growth the loose sandy tracts of Central Australia can be made useful and productive for pastoral purposes.]
