This time, dear Mr Dyer, I merely ask whether it can still be ascertained, in what
succession the fascicles of Sir Joseph Hooker's Flor. Tasmaniae
came out. I have only bound volumes, as I had my private copy bound here. The title
page says 1860; but I well remember, that for the earlier portion of the work a priority
of several years existed. Very likely it is a similar case with the Flora antarctica
and Flora Novae-Zelandiae,
and so with Seemans Flora Vitiensis.

J. Hooker (1860), published in fascicles from October 1855, see TL2.
3
J. Hooker (1844-7).
4
J. Hooker (1853-5).

Seemann (1865-73). M was correct about these volumes being issued in parts; see TL2
(under The botany of the antarctic voyage) for the publication details of Hooker's titles.
Pray do not go to any trouble about ascertaining this, if you kindly will do it for
me; but I like to be accurate in the chronologic annotations of the Census, of which,
if I live a little longer, I may yet perhaps bring out the third.
Anyhow, I keep the second written up in additions, so that the third can appear as
a posthumous publication.

B89.12.03. No third edition was published.
Let me hope that you are now quite well again.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller.
