and tenth, with which this work will be concluded, are also already in a far advanced state.
3
Decades 1-2 = B89.13.04; Decades 3-6 = B90.13.14; Decades 7-9 = B91.13.24. There was no Decade 10.
I beg therefore now to solicit,

Solicit has been added in the margin, presumably as a clarification of M's writing.
that the consent of the hon. the Premier now be obtained for the distribution through the public Library of these Decades, as successively they will be ready. Further I beg to submit for consideration a list of such Recipients, as latterly by interchanges and in a few instances for other reasons seem to have claims for obtaining this particular work.

M's request was approved and forwarded to the Premier's Office. From there it was sent on to the Government Printer and the Librarian of the Public Library who printed and distributed the volumes by the end of the year. A typed copy of M's list of proposed recipients, headed 'APPROVED LIST of recipients of the Iconography of Australian Salsolaceous Plants', is attached to the end of P84/3313, unit 48, VPRS 1163/P1 inward correspondence, VA 1123 Premier, Public Record Office, Victoria, which contains a list of recipients for the 10th decade of Eucalyptographia together with M’s covering letter, M to G. Berry, 9 November 1884.
See also M to E. Thomas, 25 November 1890 (in this edition as 90-11-25a).
I have the honor to be, Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd von Mueller,
Gov. Botanist.
