dear Prof Tate, I come across your , gathered 11/6/83 at Lake Torrens.

It is not the plant of RBr. ( ); but it may be a somewhat abnormal state of a Bassia, which among many others are on stone, but not yet printed off. It may however be a new species, and in that case I will dedicate it to you.

See M to R. Tate, 24 July 1890. M described Bassia tatei in B90.09.02 and included it in B91.13.24 as plate LXXI.

To settle this question, I should feel obliged, if you could send me soon, — if even on loan only, — more material, as I have only one small branchlet from you.
