MS found with a specimen of Endiandra sieberi (MEL 582703).
April 13th 1890.
Honored Sir,
We have been successful in obtaining flowers of the tree, whose fruit, leaves, and
bark, I sent you some time ago,
and which you declared to be new to you. I am surprised at finding the flowers at
this time of the year; the tree is damaged by fire at the root which probably accounts
for its flowring at this time. We discovered the flowers with the aid of a small telescope;
we did not fall the tree, so we can get more flowers if the enclosed sprays get damaged
in transit.
