The Estimate was copied out again at the Chief Secretary's Office, marked 'Submitted' and initialled by Wilson and the Chief Secretary, A. Deakin. The sum was included in the Estimates ordered to be printed 31 July 1890 (Estimates of revenue and expenditure for the year ending 30th June, 1891, Victoria Parliamentary paper 1890/B 17, p. 71), but was not included in 'Sundry works, Melbourne' when the votes for the Department of Public Works were approved on 4 December 1890 (Victoria Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly, session 1890, vol. 1, p. 299). M probably formally withdrew his request in M to A. Deakin, July 1890 (in this edition as 90-07-00a).
