10/3/90.
During a few days, dear Prof Tate, I have devoted the spare-hours to the examination
of Mr Tietkens plants, and have done most of them, so that the clear writings will
be forwarded to you in the course of this week.
The few remaining ones must be attended to at some future time; in this you will
all the more readily concur, as nothing of real importance is among them.

See M to R. Tate, 14 April 1890.
Indeed the whole collection adds but scantily to the records of the Australian Flora;
and this is all the more to be regretted, as the season of 1889 was so favorable,
and as the region, traversed by Mr Tietkens party,
was extensively a novel one also for phytologic researches. This list must in justice
to yourself appear as the result of our united labours
2
From March to July 1889, William Tietkens led a party west from Alice Springs into
the Gibson Dessert to the western extremity of Lake Macdonald, returning via Lake
Amadeus to Charlotte Waters (ADB).

The list appeared as a joint publication of M and Tate, B90.14.03.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
