During a few days, dear Prof Tate, I have devoted the spare-hours to the examination of Mr Tietkens plants, and have done most of them, so that the clear writings will be forwarded to you in the course of this week.

The few remaining ones must be attended to at some future time; in this you will all the more readily concur, as nothing of real importance is among them.
Indeed the whole collection adds but scantily to the records of the Australian Flora; and this is all the more to be regretted, as the season of 1889 was so favorable, and as the region, traversed by Mr Tietkens party,
