SUBJECT:—
My dear Baron,
I think we have found a new Eucalypt. Enclosed I send you dried a specimen of leaves and flowers: the latter you will observe are a brilliant crimson in color. The seed-vessels, as per proof plate enclosed, are very angular and sit upon short foot [stalks]. I regret to say that what we had have gone astray. Perhaps however you may be able to determine the species from the plate (the seed-vessels were taken from a photograph).
Please let me have your opinion about the species and oblige
Yours vy try
