Herewith, dear Miss Walker, I send you one of the best specimens of Hypericum MacGregorii, collected. If you look up in some book an illustration of an European Hypericum, it will aid you in making a drawing of the New Guinea species. Of the flowers you can soak one or more in hot water, when they will assume their expanded state, just as tea leaves in a teapot. By putting a soaked flower on a plate, you can with a pin arrange the various portions in their natural order. This Hypericum is one of the easiest to draw of the New Guinea plants, discovered by Sir Will Macgregor. So it will be best to commence with that
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
