MS written by G. Luehmann and signed by M.
Melbourne, 1st October 1889
Sir
I have the honor to solicit, that you will kindly permit me to engage two youths for 4 days a week at a remuneration of 3 shillings and 4 shillings per day respectively, during the months of October, November and December, payment to be rendered out of the vote for Contingencies.
Their services in the past have proved very useful in relieving the permanent officers of much mechanical work at a comparatively small cost.
