My dear Baron,
I forward with this some samples of wood, bark, fruit & leaves of timber grown in
the Avoca district
which is similar to that which the Contractors propose to supply as red gum. Will
you have the goodness to examine the specimens sent and inform me as to the true variety
of this Eucalypt, and if suitable for railway purposes.
