Letter not found. The text given here is from 'New Guinea Specimens', Brisbane courier, 8 August 1889. p. 5 (B89.08.02). The extract is introduced by '… we understand that a large number of rare and in some cases hitherto unknown botanical, entomological, and other specimens have been brought to Brisbane by Sir William Macgregor, who has transmitted them to various experts for classification. The flora obtained has been sent to that distinguished scientist Baron Von Mueller, who in a recent communication remarks as follows:—'. See also M to W. You seem to have found a fern-tree in a higher region than that occupied by any other arborescent fern, though it may only have occurred there in a dwarfed state.
