Während des medicinisch. Congresses in Melbourne, Jan. 1889, bei welchem ich Präsident für die therapeutische Section war, geehrter Herr Prof., bat ich den von der Regierung Westaustraliens an uns abgeordneten Arzt, Dr Elliott, an der Champion-Bay, die seinem Wohnplatz nahe, gelegentlich Algen zu sammeln oder sammeln zu lassen. Nun schickt er einige, die eine von ihm ungenannte Dame trocknete; das Ganze geht mit der Post eben an Sie ab. Vielleicht ist Einiges darunter, das doch des Standorts wegen bemerkenswerth ist, denn Harvey konnte 1854 die damals noch unoccupirte Gegend nicht besuchen. — 1877 während meines kurzen Aufenthalts an der Champion-Bay war fast gar nichts aufgewaschen. Ich hätte gerne etwas von dieser Station zurück, da solche fast subtropisch ist.

to collect or have algae collected now and then at Champion Bay near his place of residence. Now he sends some that a lady unnamed by him dried; the whole lot is just going off to you by post. Perhaps there is something among them that is surely valuable on account of the locality, since in 1854 Harvey could not visit this region which was still unoccupied at that time.

— In 1877 during my short stay at Champion Bay there was almost nothing at all washed up. I would like something back from this station, since it is almost subtropical.
