In the course of the last thirty years, dear Dr Bride, serial publications of many
scientific societies have accumulated in my library. The sets are however in many
cases incomplete; but the earlier volumes are likely the only ones anywhere in Australia,
and often no longer gainable. Most of these serials I do
not
require for frequent reference, and I would be happy to transfer, what I do not require,
to your grand institution on
condition
, that to the Societies, from which these periodicals emanate, some of my
last
publications be soon sent. As you have the list of the recipients for the last few
years, you would easily see, what the Societies
did
already receive and what not.
With regardful remembrance your
Ferd. von Mueller
Kindly say, whether you perhaps received the 4th vol. of Saccardo's Sylloge fungorum
twice. That volume is missing in my set here, whereas VII pt I is twice here. So
perhaps a similar "quid pro quo" may have occurred with you.
1
Saccardo (1882-1931).

MS annotation by Bride: 'Inform that if he will be good enough to send a list of the
vols, or parts which he has for presentation, I will at once see whether we can give
a fair equivalent to the Societies &c mentioned. Reply also re the part of the Sylloge.'
