Being engaged for Saturday noon, dear Mr MacDonald, I have thanked the Directors of the Evening-Standard for their invitation, and stated to them, that I had transferred the ticket to you as the executive Representative of the R.G.S.A. of Austral.

here. As you are now arranging the accounts, will you kindly send my £10— also to the Hon. Dr Campbell in Adelaide, as a contribution of mine, (which was overlooked previously,) towards the fund of Tietkens' Expedition. I have great hopes for his success. I have written to the Under-Secretary fully about the desirability of £1000 again being placed on the estimates of 1889-1890, so that we may have fund again for the season 1890.
