A typed copy of this letter was prepared at the Chief Secretary's Office and filed
separately without the attached estimates (N89/5953, unit 431, VPRS 3992/P, Public
Record Office, Victoria).
16 April 1889.
T. R. Wilson Esqr &c
Under Secretary.
Sir.
In accordance with the request, conveyed in your letter of the 5th inst. (N. 2353)
I have the honor to submit the estimates of the Gov. Botanist's Department for the
finance-year 1889-1890. I have ventured, to write them out in such alterations, as
would be brought about, were the promotions in the staff and the slight addition be
approved of, such changes having been solicited in my letter of the 30 March,
and the reasons for it seriatim been explained then.

See M to A. Deakin, 30 March 1889.
Trusting, that the alterations and improvements, proposed for the establishment under
my care, will receive generous consideration, I have the honor to be, Sir,
your obed. servant
Ferd von Mueller,
Gov. Botanist.
ESTIMATES of Expenditure for the Year ending 30th June, 1890.

Estimates written by Georg Luehmann and signed throughout by M. There are two copies
of the estimates in the file, the second copy does not bear the annotations that were
presumably made a the Chief Secretary's Office.
