Lately, dear Dr Bride, I received a magnificent volume in large quarto, with numerous lithographic plates, from the heirs of Dr Engelmann of St. Louis, comprising the lifelong researches of this distinguished observer of N. Amer. plants.

I am bound to make a return-sending . Suppose, I presented this volume of my departed friend to the public Library, could you undertake to forward early an equivalent in some of my own illustrated works?
