[A letter was received from the Lands department stating that a piece of land at Barwon Heads, frequented by picnic parties, had been permanently reserved for the use of the public, and that the department would agree to the council fencing it in and planting trees within the enclosure. … In connection with this subject a letter was read from Baron Von Mueller giving a list of the names of trees suitable for planting by the sea coast.]
