Melbourne,

T.R. Wilson Esqr
Undersecretary.
Sir
As the work on the Australian Acacias, as regards the main volume
is now completed, I have the honor to suggest, that a nicely bound copy may be presented to his Excellency the Governor, also to the Honorable
the Chief Secretary, and that one may also — elegantly bound — be furnished for the
Centennial Exhibition.

Centennial International Exhibition, Melbourne, 1888-9. The Chief Secretary, A. Deakin,
approved M's suggestions on 9 July 1888, 'except for C.S. for whom a plain copy will
do'. M was informed of this decision the same day and replied the next day 'with best thanks'. The Government Printer was notified of the Minister's authority
on 12 July and acknowledged the decision on 30 July.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller.
