E. Thomas to M, 22 May 1888, acknowledged receipt of this letter. However, no text volume was ever published. Similarly, no textual volumes accompanied M's illustrations of Acacia and cognate genera (B87.13.04, 88.13.01), Australian salsolaceous plants (B89.13.04), or Candolleaceous plants (B93.02.04); however, each of these was published explicitly as an 'Iconography', without an expectation that a letter-press volume would follow.
