editorial addition.
Sir,
In reply to your letter of the 1st of January 1888
I have the honour to inform you that the Trustees will gladly accept the medals offered
by you.

Medals not identified. M had earlier donated medals to the Industrial and Technological
Museum; see M to M. Clarke, 25 September 1872, and letters cited in notes thereto. A further deposit was made in 1873; see M to
R. Barry, 13 May 1873 (in this edition as 73-05-13a). The new donation was no doubt also destined for the Museum.
I may state that only a limited number of copies of works intended for distribution
are at the disposal of the Trustees, and they are reserved for presentation in return
for important donations made to the Library.
I would suggest that you should ask the Premier to forward copies of the works required
to the Public Library for transmission to the Union for Natural Science, Brunswick.
I have the honour to be
Sir,
Your obedient Servant
T. F. Bride
Librarian
Baron von Mueller MD., K.C.M.G. &c, &c.
