Dear Sir
It will give me much pleasure to obtain for you the flower & fruit of the plant used
as tobacco by the Charlotte Waters natives.
Before the receipt of your reply I had already told Ryan to obtain these further
specimens, & also a collection of other plants for you.

SA. See J. Jones to M, 14 December 1887 (in this edition as 87-12-14a), enclosing a letter from Jones's foreman at Charlotte Waters, E. Ryan, describing
the way the local Aboriginal people used the plant of which he had collected the specimen
that Jones then forwarded to M.

M's reply to Jones's earlier letter has not been found.
Please command me at any time when there is anything you specially want from our Interior
as my men are frequently in comparatively unknown country & will look out for any
plants [&c]
