It will give me much pleasure to obtain for you the flower & fruit of the plant used as tobacco by the Charlotte Waters natives.

SA. See J. Jones to M, 14 December 1887 (in this edition as 87-12-14a), enclosing a letter from Jones's foreman at Charlotte Waters, E. Ryan, describing the way the local Aboriginal people used the plant of which he had collected the specimen that Jones then forwarded to M.
Before the receipt of your reply I had already told Ryan to obtain these further specimens, & also a collection of other plants for you.

M's reply to Jones's earlier letter has not been found.
Please command me at any time when there is anything you specially want from our Interior as my men are frequently in comparatively unknown country & will look out for any plants [&c]
With much respect
I am faithfully yours
