The specimen MEL 2272272 collected by Fitzgerald is said to be from 'Geraldston [?=Geraldton]', i.e. Geraldton, WA. The specimen is undated, but Fitzgerald arrived in Geraldton from Perth on 1 August 1881 and left on 16 August (Victoria express (Geraldton) 3 August 1881, p. 2; Victoria express (Geraldton), 16 August 1881, p. 2).
dear Mr Fitzgerald, is Breweria rosea I do not wonder your comparing it with Eremophila, as it is in flower very similar, altho' very different in fruit.
I shall at any time be very happy to commit my name with your honored one in any botanic specifyings.
Pity you can not share in the holidays trip to Mt Seaview; it would likely occupy only one week. Mr Maiden takes a particular interest in the subject.

M also encouraged others to participate in the botanical exploration trip he had suggested, see, for example, M to H. Deane, 7 October 1887.
