Cuthbertson was returning from a successful exploring expedition in New Guinea, and the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia (Vic. Branch) was planning a pubic welcome.

to ask you if the 11th of November (Friday) would be a suitable date. His Excellency cannot at this distance of time promise definitely but he would be glad to know if that date would suit the Geographical Society.
