Chief Secretary

Sir.
I have the honor to solicit your favorable consideration of the byefollowing application,
submitted by Mr T. Minchin, junior Assistant in the botanic Museum, for the usual
annual furlough.
Though he was absent through illness and other causes for a few days during the year,
I would recommend, that the full three weeks leave be allowed him, as he will devote
the whole time in the interest of the Department to a botanical collecting tour in
the Murray-River region.
1
See J. Minchin to M, 28 March 1887.
2
M's request was approved on 30 September and he promptly returned the file 'with best
thanks'. See also M to A. Deakin, 17 October 1887 (in this edition as 87-10-17c).
I have the honor to be, Sir,
your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller.
