Chief Secretary's Office
Melbourne 8th September 1887.
Sir,
I beg to inform you that in those cases where the Public Service Board reports that the premium on a Life Policy has not been paid, it will be necessary in future that the premium be at once paid and the receipt forwarded to this Office without any delay, so as to prevent a double payment being made when the non-payment of the premium by the officer concerned is reported to the Under Treasurer by the Public Service Board.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient servant,
T. R. Wilson
The Government Botanist
