MS is stamped and annotated: 'THE TECHNOLOGICAL MUSEUM SYDNEY No. 277 RECEIVED SEP 7 1887 Ansd. 8/9' and 'SUBMITTED SEP 14 1887 TO THE TRUSTEES'. See J. Maiden to M, 8 September 1884.
Allow me, dear Mr Maiden, to send to
you
the money-order of £5, as a subsidy for Mr Baeuerlen during August.
As you have anyhow to send him funds from time to time, my addition to his travelling-resources
might as well or better go with yours; indeed you are in a better position to forward
to him at the earliest time and to the best adress, than myself. I
did
send him in due time the July subsidy of £5 in a money order to
Wilcannia
,
trusting that he will get it cashed further N. W.

His success so far as the phytography of N.S.W. is concerned depend on two points.
1, that he
mainly
and
timely
operates in the
remotest
N.W. corner of N.S.W., as repeatedly pointed out to him at the outset.
2, that he collects also all
aquatic
p
lants
and particularly also
all minute
annuals
, even if shrivelled up. Among these will be most novelty for N.S.W. and indeed for
general science also.
I still hope, that you and your friends get the path to the summit of Mt Seaview
out timely
