MS found with specimen of Eriocaulon carsonii (MEL 710197) found by Duncan Carson and named by M for him (B90.09.01), and ‘removed to handwriting file 7.8.1970’. MS annotated by M: ‘Near the junct. of the Darl. & Paroo’. The content suggests that the note was written soon after D. Carson to M, 12 August 1887, and certainly some time before D. Carson to M, 7 March 1888.
See also D. Brown to M, 19 September 1889 (in this edition as 89-09-19b), attached to the same specimen sheet.
This plant was found by me at Wee Wata Spring on Kallara Station Darling River N.S.W. – I have only noticed it in close proximity to this spring, the water of which I believe is strongly impregnated with soda. It grows in dense masses in the wet ground.

The Kew specimen, K001056348, has one of M's labels attached to the sheet: 'Eriocaulon Carsoni | F.v.M. | Near the junction of the Paroo and Darling-River 1889 | Duncan Carson'; the label is annotated 'Recd 5/90'.
