My dear Sir,
I send you under separate cover a small plant which is rather abundant this year in
wet places. Strange to say, I have not noticed it before, perhaps I never found it
in flower and took it for something else. It is evidently a
Tillaea
, but it does not correspond with the description of any of the species in the "Flora".
I have found three other species growing about here, namely
T. verticillaris
T. macrantha
&
T.
recurva
The fourth species
T. purpurata
I have often looked for but not been able to find. The peculiarity of the plant I
send you seems to be its long leaflike sepals.
In your census
you give two other species as occurring in Western Australia but I have not the Volume
of the Fragmenta handy to refer to them.
In the mean time I forward you specimens.

The present season promises well for wild flowers, but terrible havoc has been committed
on the Crown Lands by the so called "Unemployed" —
misemployed
would be the proper term.
Believe me
Yours very faithfully
