To the Baron Von Mueller
Dear Sir
For the last three months I have been most unsuccessfully trying to get water plants
with their fruits on. And think you might give me some clue to help me for though
there are plenty of lagoons and they are perfectly beautiful with a variety of such
plants I see no use in the leaves only. I am about six miles from the Mitta Mitta
on the Kiewa or Little river. I send you some but they are no good. I was afraid you
might think I was forgetting. I have a few mosses but it is rather early for them
to be in fruit here. I also enclose a gum specimen and wish to know if the vernacular
name is "Red box" and its proper name. it is the most common tree here with Stringy
bark
I must now conclude and remain
Yours most obediently
Flora Campbell
