editorial addition.
Sir,
I am directed by the Trustees of the Public Library Museums, and National Gallery,
to request you to be good enough to favour them with lists of works which you think
it desirable to have added to the Library on those subjects of which you have made
a speciality. It has been the practice for some years to seek the advice of experts
on the several subjects of Science, Literature, and Art; and I trust that your interest
in the Institution will warrant the Trustees in hoping that you will be pleased to
comply with their request.
You are already in possession of a copy of the last printed Catalogue of the Library,
and I shall be glad to give you any information that you may require in reference
to the Library.

I have the honour to be,
Sir,
