Memo
I shall be obliged if the Government Botanist will kindly give me a call at this office,
on Wednesday next, relative to an application from the Science Master of the C. E.
Grammar School for a set of certain dried plants.
1
J. H. Thompson, Science Master at Melbourne Grammar School, wrote to the Chief Secretary,
Graham Berry, on 13 May 1887:
Having applied to Baron von Mueller for a collection of typical Victorian plants for
educational purposes, he advised me to write to the Hon: The Chief Secretary and apply
for a set of the third fascicles of the "Educational Collection of dried Victorian
plants". He believes one set is yet available at the Chief Secretary's Office.
If such a set does exist I beg most respectfully to apply for it.
On [26] May [Thomas Wilson] wrote to Thompson saying that there was no complete set
available, but offering him parts I and II.
